These ones are moving against people and organizations who are trying to create in universal forms, trusting their academic armours. They want to ignore and even exterminate these universal creations by pointing out their so-called historical positions.
Theatre is material... It is trying to be seen as even a magical fact, not art by mystic views. The sovereigns need people for theatre who even adore them for supplying the money, reputation and confidence and believe the idea of 'theatre is a kind of opium'. Because of that reason, they want to control that field with even metaphysical senses.
Theatre is a progressive art that will not let itself to be left to control of any kings, sultans, tsars and shahs. Some sovereigns conciders theatre as a holy umbrella, they 'order works' to the theatre artists whom they trust. And the spokesmen of the national or international announcements even races to write the announcements for them.
Theatre must be progressive and contemporary enough not to be left to the feodal rulers, with its texts and shows. The world theatre is trying to be drawn back behind writers such as Sheakespeare, Moliere, Brecht... The sovereigns especially in the USA and the other reactionary and capitalistic countries are doing their best to exterminate the world theatre. The status quo theatre artists who trusting their academic armours are unfortunately the tools of that wish.
ITI (International Theatre Institute) is aiding decaying, mildewing and suicide of theatre. To not to aid that fact and even to opose, we need to be with crushings.
We, as the people and organizations who attach big importance to the slogan of 'workers of the world unit', we are offering not the contary announcement but the opponent one. We announce that we are trying to convert our voice to words, together with allying powers who wants to change the world and create the theatre of future.
From now on, we expect 27th of March to be left to ones 'worshiping theatre' and celebrate 1st of May as the 'world theatre festival'. We are looking forward to meet the people and organizations who wants to contribute to our propose.
Who is Huseyin Hilmi Bulunmaz
He was born in 1955 in Beykoz, Istanbul, Turkey. He started working at the age of 8 and when he was 10, he witnessed the divorced his parents which was a calamity for him. At the same age he worked in different jobs such as carpenter, pedlar, textile worker and child-worker in toy factory. At the end he 'decided' working in jewellery manufacture.
He nearly had no education and he was not influenced by official ideology.
Till he was working, he started playing baglama (a kind of Turkish string instrument) and met stages. In 1972, he found out himself as a comedian after trying some traditional Turkish theatre plays.
He worked with masters who sees or triying to see the theatre as an art.
Unfairly he was arrested and tortured during the era of '12th of September rachism' which promoted Turkey to the world as a barbarian country.
All the theatre scenes he was founded are attacked, sealed and the artists and spectators are so often arrasted and being threaten and tried to passivise.
All the plays he directed are prevented, prohibited and damaged.
The organizations he founded are pillaged.
He had resourches in Italy ,India, Russia, Germany, Former Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Romania.
He is living with no supports from any kapitalistic, rachistic or reactionary people or organizations at all. And as being the unique professional theatre of Turkey living such way, he continues his struggle.
