Voice And The Actor February 11-16 DR SADHANA NAYAK, Certified Fitzmaurice trainer, NYU - Tisch School of the Arts will take you through Fitzmaurice Voicework®, a copyrighted technique that explores the dynamics between body, breath, voice, the imagination, language and presence. It is practiced at Yale School of Drama, and Harvard University/ American Repertory Theatre's Institute for Advanced Theatre Training. Sadhana will also work with text to help actors apply her teachings. Sadhana is a Mumbai-based voice coach and laryngologist, specialising in voice training and therapy for professional voice users and performers. She was awarded the Fulbright- Nehru Fellowship to be visiting faculty for Voice at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Department of Drama.
Voice And The Scene March 4 - 9 Using voice as a foundation, explore the dynamics of how a scene unfolds in performance. Sunil will work with select texts that the participants have memorised beforehand, so participants can understand the performance of a scene as a link between the thought, the voice and the body. Sunil Shanbag is one of India’s foremost theatre directors, a television writer/producer and documentary filmmaker. His recent plays include Stories in a Song; Sex, Morality and Censorship; and Shakespeare’s All’s Well That Ends Well in Gujarati (Maro Piyu Gayo Rangoon) that was performed at the Globe in London as part of the World Shakespeare festival.
Voice And Shakespeare March 25-30 DESHIK VANSADIA from Stella Adler Institute, Shakespeare & Co. will open up the world of Shakespeare, showing participants how easy his plays are to work with. You will learn and work with one prologue, one sonnet and one speech, and understand their specific contexts in order to bring out the power of Shakespeare’s ideas and unlock the humour, wit and passion of each line in your performance. Deshik studied acting at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Los Angeles and later with Shakespeare & Co, the company co-founded by voice guru Kristin Linklater. Subsequently, he worked with the company, performing and teaching Shakespeare across the United States. Deshik has performed in numerous stage shows and films.
