Centre for Community Dialogue and Change (CCDC) will meet the needs of a wide range of people and the contexts in which they might apply T.O. It will be useful for beginners as well as those looking to deepen their understanding and practice of T.O.

This workshop will be to give participants an experiential introduction to several of the central games, exercises, structures and techniques in Theatre of the Oppressed as developed by Augusto Boal. In addition to many of the well-known and widely used games and exercises, participants will be introduced to longer structures such as Forum Theatre, Cop in the Head, and Rainbow of Desire.

There will be extensive debrief sessions to discuss the pedagogic philosophy underlying the techniques. Time will be allotted every day to discuss facilitation issues. Besides these, the workshop will include mini facilitation sessions for participants to practice some aspects of their learning.

Registration:

We have a limited number of positions for the workshop (maximum 30). Registrations will be given on a first come –first served basis.

The fees will include workshop handouts, lunch, and tea/coffee during the workshop and a Valedictory dinner.

For those from outside Bangalore, accommodation is available at the workshop venue for an additional cost as given below.

For twin sharing room : Rs. 1,000 for 6 nights and Rs. 2,000 for single occupancy.

The workshops will run between 9.30 AM and 5 PM on all days. Participants have to committed to be present full-time on all days of the workshop. If you think you may not be able to do so, please do not register for the workshop.

Cancellations are possible upto 7 working days before the workshop.
