This workshop will explore Stanislavski’s method of working with physical actions through text analysis, active analysis, improvisation and actioning.

Participants will learn how to define scene objectives for their characters and the connection between these to their immediate objectives. Through the application of exercises we will find ways to use action to explore and release the emotional life within a scene.

The work will be based on working with scenes from Indian plays. We will work together on exercises to help equip participants with a greater understanding of how Stanislavski’s system can develop their work and be applied to contemporary Indian theatre practice.

This is an exciting opportunity to learn from the Vice Principal of LAMDA, one of the foremost drama schools in the world. John brings to this workshop his endless experience in the theatre from all around the world.
