The NCPA aims to provide Marathi theatre with a new destination, reach, stage and audience. At NCPA Pratibimb this year, the NCPA recognises a trend in Marathi theatre - that of grand revivals of old hits, and includes three popular plays that made dazzling comebacks, without losing any of their relevance or entertainment value.
Outstanding plays like JASWANDI, a Maharashtra Rangabhoomi presentation, written and directed by Sai Paranjpye, MORUCHI MAVSHI, by Kirti and Asmi Productions and LOVEBIRDS, by Amruta and Saisakshi productions will enthrall the audience. The other side of Marathi theatre, that is the Experimental side, can never be ignored, and the two offbeat plays break new ground in expression and stagecraft. GAJAB KAHANI, by Aasakta Kalamanch and
MISTER BEHRAM, by Kalakendra In 2010, NCPA Pratibimb showcased the best of contemporary Marathi theatre by old groups and new, by young playwrights and veterans, with Atul Kulkarni as the face of the festival. The performances were preceded by Katta (lively sessions of debate and discussion).

It enables the audience to have a glimpse of the best of contemporary Marathi plays and much more, all under one roof. The festival is our humble initiative to encourage Marathi theatre."
Deepa Gahlot, Head - Programming (Theatre & Film), NCPA, says, "It is with great pleasure that we announce the second edition of the NCPA Pratibimb Marathi Natya Utsav.
