Haluk Bilginer trained at the Turkish State Conservatoire and worked at The Turkish State Theatre before going to LAMDA. He has worked in England from 1980 until 1992.

Television work includes Eastenders (for two years playing Mehmet), Glory Boys, Murder of a Moderate Man, Bergerac, Memories of Midnight, She’s gone, Spooks.

Films: Half Moon Street, Lionheart, Ishtar, Buffalo Soldiers, The International.

He has worked with numerous theatre companies including Tyne Wear Theatre Company, Unicorn Theatre for children, Half Moon Theatre, Ashcroft Theatre, CV 1 Theatre Company and Ken Hill‘s Phantom of the Opera in the West End.

In Turkey with his own companies “ Theatre Studio” and “Play Workshop” he played the leading parts in Herold Pinter‘s “Betrayal ” , Willy Russell‘s “Blood Brothers” , Ben Elton‘s “Gasping”, Terry Johnson‘s “Hysteria”, Jean Genet‘s “The Balcony”, Steven Berkoff’s “Kvetch”, Anthony Horowitz’s “ Mind Game ”, Tom Kempinsky’s “ Separation“, Moliere’s “The Miser”, Stefan Tsanev’s “The Other Death of Joan of Arc”, W. Shakespeare’s “Timon of Athens”, Eric Emmanuel Schmitt's “Partners in crime”.In Turkey he starred in many films and TV shows. With the film “Masumiyet” (The Innocence) besides the numerous awards in Turkish film festivals, he was rewarded The Best Actor Award in Angers Film Festival in France.
